I liked that it was in a good neighbourhood, close to supermarkets, metro station, not to far from Botafogo beach. The neighbourhood was safe enough to walk around by myself at night. The dormroom eventhough it was for 10 people the beds where big and high enough that you did feel like you had your own space, the lockers in the room where big enough to put all your things in. Most of the staff where realy friendly. Eventhough it was hard to realy make use of the kitchen and cook for yourself they do offer a great dinner service with real nice food made by a real sweet lady, you do pay for each meal however compared to doing grocery shopping you would pay the same. The hostel is quite clean to, they do clean well compared to other hostels i have been to. What i found a bit difficult was that it was not nessicarily a backpackers hostel, eventhough it would be great as one, it would mainly attract locals which is not a problem at all however most locals are either there to work, study or just short weekend breaks so it would be a bit hard to meet people to go do things with… i am not saying there would not be any cause i did meet some people there however not as much or as regular.
